How to travel
1. Via Panama City

Day 1. Arrival to Panama: (extra day, Visit Panama canal)
Day 2. Travel domestic flight Panama Air to Bocas del Toro
Day 3. Bocas del Toro
Day 4. Bocas del Toro
Day 5. Travel to Manzanillo, 3 hours total. Start by taking the boat to Valencia ($6 pp)
Get a taxi to the boarder (Frontera) of Costa Rica (minivan $15 pp)
Get the stamps at the boarder, check out of Panama
Walk over the bridge, (there are people who offer luggage-carry service.)
Arrive in Sixaola, get a 4x4 taxi to Manzanillo ($50)
Day 6 Manzanillo, rent a 4x4 car (Alamo) Pick up Puerto Viejo CR with a return in San Jose.
Day 7 Manzanillo

Day 9, 06:00 AM Travel to Tortuguero 4,5 hour drive
- Tip: you can combine this day of travel with a rafting experience halfway!
Day 10 Tortuguero

Day 12, Travel to Bocatapada, 3,5 hours drive
- We strongly advise the Maquenque Eco lodge (book the treehouse room)
Day 13 Bocatapada

Day 15 Travel to San Jose
2. Direct to San Jose
KLM flys directly to San Jose during the high season. (Jan - May)

All other months you can transfer a Panama city. With Copa airways is only 1 hour to San Jose International airport.
Here you can take a domestic flight to Limón and then your only 1 hour driving away from Manzanillo.
Day 1; Arrive in San Jose late afternoon. Check in to Marriot hotel Belen. Stay here 1 or 2 nights to relax at the pool.
Day 2: Rent a car at Alamo, just around the corner of the Marriot hotel.
